2018-2019 Seminar

The temporality of political upheaval is that of a break within the continuity of an abstract, homogeneous and empty time of capital. Conversely, the chronopolitics of capitalism and its dream of global synchronicity find its ultimate realization in the crisis, which has become a mode of governmentality.
What if we take the question from the notion of subjectivity as it relates to an agency, that is to say on politics in a given place and time, according to a point of view that was not interchangeable?
On the other hand, to what forms of temporality and political subjectivities do the movements we know give rise to? What are their forms of inscription in social practice, the languages by which they are transmitted, their forms of historicity?
This seminar invites to an exploration of the notions of temporalities and political subjectivities, by asking the question, not only of historical practice, but also of what forms of political agency and praxis are relaying on the present situation.
Following a seminar on political studies in the Near and Middle East in 2016-2017 and 2017-2018, it opens up to different situations of transnationalities throughout the history of the movements.
The forms of reliance and of social, political, economic organization, etc., no longer simply follow the logic of national and international frameworks, in a way linked to globalization, but also local / global, transnational and translocal scales.
We will question the conditions according to which the modalities of the relations between life and politics have been transformed, following inter- and transdisciplinary methodologies. A large place will be made for research on the forms of the archive.

The session take place in Paris 8 Saint-Denis University, 2 rue de la Liberté 93526 Saint-Denis (M° Saint-Denis University). Free entrance without registration.
