The in(ter)disciplinary seminars of La Générale & Inter-zones propose a meeting and a plateau of readings and inter/transmedia performances this April 15, 2019 with Eden Tinto Collins, Thomas Maury, Joachim Montessuis, Kasper Toeplitz, Nina Živančević, Erik Minkkinen, Jamika Ajalon, Zahra Pourazizi, and in Paris tour 2019, Tim Shaw, and Phill Niblock

The term "intermedia" has traveled a lot, inviting us to get out of the restrictive notions of the privileged mediums of art to consider that everything can make media, then those of post, and transmedia, and some other attempts to remain outside of any established definition, and to inspire various passages between all that can make music, poetry, cinema, performance, art of networks and radio, etc. and the experimentation of ways of remaining in these passages rather than one or the other stopped form, whose idea remains whole. All these notions have mutated, under the influence of attention to everyday life, and we have joined the sense of circumstances to create an encounter.

Phill Niblock creates music made of intense frequencies, and microtons of instrumental timbres generating other sounds in the performance space. Simultaneously, he presents films / videos of the movement of people working or computer-driven black and white abstract images floating in time. Niblock was born in Indiana in 1933. Since the mid-1960s, he has made music and intermedia performances that have been presented in many places around the world. Since 1985, he has been director of Experimental Intermedia in New York, of which he has been an artist / member since 1968. He has been producer of music and intermedia presentations at EI since 1973 (about 1000 performances) and the curator of the label XI Records of EI. In 1993, he participated in the creation of an experimental intermedia organization in Ghent, Belgium - EI vzw Ghent. His music is available on the labels XI, Moikai, Mode and Touch. A DVD of movies and music is available on the label Extreme.

Nina Živančević, poetess, essayist and writer, published her first book in 1982 for which she won the National Poetry Prize in Yugoslavia. The author of fifteen books of poetry, Živančević has also written four collections of short stories and two novels. Her work is widely translated. She has written several plays and has given poetry shows in Europe and the United States. In addition to having worked with the Living Theater of New York (1988-1992), she co-founded the Odiyana Theater (1988) with Carlo Stephanos. Recipient of three literary prizes, Nina Živančević has participated in numerous anthologies of world poetry and contemporary literature reviews. Editorial Board of many magazines including Delo, Knjizevne Novine, New York Arts Magazine, Modern Painters, American Book Review, East Village Eye, Republic of Letters, Intempestives, Au Sud de l’Est…

Jamika Ajalon is an interdisciplinary author and artist who works with different mediums independently and in multiple fusions incorporating written and spoken text, sound / music and visuals. Her poems, stories and essays have been published internationally. She currently writes a regular column for Itchy Silk entitled "Feather queer: fugitive journal", and is co-conspirator of lpressl.com. Graduated from Goldsmiths, London, in Film / Video and Communication, Culture and Society and often invited lecturer (Academy of Arts of Vienna, American University of Paris), singer, musician-writer (Zenzile & the Argonauts). She performed her hypersonic audiovisual anti-readings / slams and exhibited around the world.

Zahra Pourazizi, poetess, writer and translator, born in Tehran. In the poetry of her own, she invents constantly her own language within the Persian language where rhythm and repetition function like a mantra. In her poems, she explores, with meticulousness, a whole mute, abandoned, unspoken or unwritten world. Indeed, for Pourazizi, the immanence of writing rhymes with transgression. With an implacable generosity, she offers, without counting, freedom to the poem. It is expensive, it is dangerous but it is at this price that poetry, her poetry, is written. Collection of poetry (Nashré editions), novels (Editions Elmi-Farhangi) and uninterrupted collaboration with the magazine Naamomken (Impossible). She is also the author of literary essays and translations of French literature.

Erik Minkkinen is a musician, performer, co-founder of the Büro collective, the Deco label, the nomadic headphones festival Le Placard, the radio show Lapinkult, and the musical groups Sister Iodine, Discom, Intertecsupabrainbeatzroomboyz, Minitel, Virgin like a naked bee, Antille, Noyade, Grifu and a few others.

Tim Shaw is interested in the many forms of listening, and how his environments can be built or explored using a wide range of techniques and technologies. Using field recording practices, and various devices, he creates complex sound environments, and explores how they change the way we live the world, where the relationships between places, sounds and technologies matter. His work takes the form of musical performances, installations, walks and interventions in situ, and exposes through sound production the non-visible aspects of environments and technologies. He teaches at Newcastle University, and is featured in galleries, festivals, museums, residencies and national and international scale events.

Eden Tinto Collins followed the curriculum of the National School of Arts of Paris-Cergy where she initiated and developed her practice of visual arts. Poetician, trans, -indeed hyper-, media, she freely explores the friction between melancholy, mythology and identity, while developing a relationship with the "imaginal" Third World. From there proliferate a poetic discourse, relational, noetic dispositives (of thinking and spirit) activated by the use of the principles of sublingage and re-enactment.

Thomas Maury studied at the High School of Arts of the Rhine (HEAR) in Strasbourg in graphic design. His projects are exhibited and published in France, Belgium, Germany and Czech Republic, and he decides to extend his practice of images through the audiovisual production. In 2010, he began a documentary film project with Phill Niblock, which he wrote, directed, edited and produced entirely. He is also a musician and this film is the result of a meeting. He received the Fulbright Scholarship from the Franco-American Commission and a scholarship to the San Francisco Art Institute in 2012 where he worked in the studio of the brothers Kuchar, two figures of underground cinema. In 2014, he created the festival of music, sound art and art images Hydraphonies.

Since the beginning of the 90's, Joachim Montessuis has been developing an open and contextual practice around voice, continuous sound, noise and resonance. His work also focuses on conceptual and sensitive experimental processes: vocal performances, trance states, amplification and electronic transformations of voice performances and instruments (acoustic, electric, digital), and more recently the reading experience. He conceives his actions as code-poems, and fertile relational processes. He has shown his work in many contexts and international festivals and worked notably with C. Palestine, H. Chopin, Mr. Ratkje, Master musicians of Joujouka, P. Niblock and others. Since 1997, he has created and runs the Erratum experimental label.

Beyond the frontiers of contemporary or non-academic music, Kasper T. Toeplitz composes and interprets electronic music based on noise and, from 1998, introduces electronics into his work. He experimented in the studios of the GMEM, the GRM, Ircam, Art Zoyd and created Sleaze Art, an orchestra of guitars and electric basses, where the computer will gradually take a prominent place. With a bass transformed into BassComputer, prototype of electronic bass to be played with transformation in real time, he creates many solo pieces. In 2007, he founded the Kernel Computer Set, devoted to the problem of writing and interpreting a computer ensemble music. He collaborates with unclassifiable artists, such as Eliane Radigue, Zbigniew Karkowski, Dror Feiler, Tetsuo Furudate, Phil Niblock, choreographers - Jonathan Schatz, Myriam Gourfink, videographers, photographers...

The in(ter)disciplinary seminars of La Générale host meetings around themes at the interface of sciences (human or inhuman) and the arts (applied or casual) under the broad heading of a reflection on the living in the twenty-first century.

Inter-zones - Manifesto (Readings & Lives). A series of radiophonic lives and readings with the United Transnational Front against Fascism created in January 2019 by an informal network of researchers and spread on the Internet.
